– Mary Ellen Nichol, 73, went to heaven to join her Lord on Tuesday,
February 1, 2011. Mary Ellen was born in Albany, daughter of the
late Charles and Mary LaFleur. Mary Ellen enjoyed bowling at Del
Lanes, Delmar, aerobics at the JCC and serving as a Eucharistic
Minister at St. Patrick’s Church, Ravena.
Survivors include her husband, George Nichol of Selkirk; children,
Barbara Baker of Troy, Mona (Greg) Gaudio of Selkirk, and James
Nichol of Selkirk; siblings, Charles (Pat) LaFleur of Rensselaer and
Audrey Boyle of Albany; Grandchildren, Adam and Amanda Baker, and
Joshua Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like
to thank the nurses and staff on the 6th floor and the Hospice Inn
for all of their kindness and attentiveness during this difficult
A memorial Mass will be celebrated 9 AM Tuesday, February 8th at St.
Patrick’s Church, Ravena. There will be no calling hours.
