GLENMONT – Mary June
DeFrate, 76, passed away Monday, December 21, 2009 at her
daughters. Mary June was born in Cohoes, daughter of the late Grace
V. and Frederick F. Froelick. She was educated in Cohoes schools
until the age of 13 when she moved to Albany and attended the former
Vincention Institute. Mary June worked in the restaurant business
in this area for several years and at one time owned and operated
the 3 D’s Tavern in Coxsackie. She also worked for the State and
Federal government. Her last full time employment was secretary to
the Board of Governors at Wolfert’s Roost Country Club.
Mrs. DeFrate was
predeceased by her husband F. William DeFrate in 1982. Survivors
include her daughter Claudia Ann Tiberia; she was “Nanna” to her
beloved grandson Christian Tiberia; sister, Gay (Robert) Derosa of
Westfield, MA; niece, Carol Ann (Brian) Keroack of Falmouth, ME;
great nieces, Melissa and Jackquelyn Keroack of Falmouth, ME. Mary
June was predeceased by her son Michael Frederick, sister, Carol Ann
Koltz and son-in-law, Joseph Tiberia.
Friends may call at
the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Monday, December 28th from 3 to
6:30 PM. Burial will be in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, Tuesday December
29th at 10 AM. Contributions in memory of Mary June may be made to
