RAVENA – Mary Ann Biscone, 78, (Sr. Mary Pia), died October 18, 2008 at St. Peter’s Rehab Unit.  Mary was the last remaining daughter of the late Rose and Joseph Biscone’s ten children.  Mary attended St. Patrick’s Grammar School and Ravena High School.

    Mary was a Religious Sister of Mercy most of her adult life until she took a leave to care for her mother and father.  She taught in various schools in the Albany Diocese’s mostly lower grades and then while in Ravena she substituted at area middle and high schools.

     Mary is survived by her brother Joseph Biscone of Florida and many nieces, nephews and grand and great nieces and nephews;  and beloved friends Sr. Marie Matthews and Lorraine Swinyer.  Mary was predeceased by her brothers, John J., Dominic, Christopher, Francis and Anthony Biscone and her sisters Louise Harvey, Martha Musso and Rosemary Serapilio.

     A Mass of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated 9 AM Wednesday, October 22^nd at St. Patrick’s Church, Ravena.  Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Coeymans.  Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM.
